| Inquiry (sent on September 12, 2010) | Hello Dave Dowling, I am writing for the Edmonton Bicycle Commuters, and myself being a cyclist. I would like you to make cycling, once you are elected, to be part of the transportation infrastructure. Cyclists should have safe streets to commute on, bike lanes should be painted on busy streets, on main road arteries, there should be bicycle lanes with their own bike lanes with their own traffic lights. Bikes should not have to share pedestrian walkways for safety. Bike lanes should be kept free of snow in the winter for commuters who bike all year round.
… (show more)All Transit and LRT stations should have safe and secure bike parking. The infrastructure for bikes would be inexpensive and the public would enjoy cleaner air, less auto congestion, making Edmonton safer and healthier. | Response | I use to ride a 21 speed, but due to disabilities I no longer ride cycles. I myself rely on the Buses and LRT for transportation, after my two feet! My birthday is in june, So I always celebrate cycle month, and I have on my web site how there should be lots of money put into making Edmonton more cycle friendly.
