Greetings. I am a voter in your ward and I am interested in learning your stance on cycling and cycling infrastructure funding in Edmonton. I have attached the Edmonton Bicycle Commuters’ lobby document, which was crafted to provide succinct
points as to why cycling should be prioritized.

I have been a cycle-commuter for more then 10 years and have worked to make cycling better in Edmonton in a variety of ways (chiefly through festivals, education and advocacy). It would be ever so encouraging to have the City of Edmonton step up to it’s stated commitments to cycling and active living.

I look forward to your response.

Kind regards

Karly Coleman

ResponseHi Karly!

Thanks for contacting me. My living in the Oliver area provides me with an
awesome chance to do things such as take daily walks throughout the area,
including the river valley region. I can appreciate what I see every day. I
want
to ensure the continued existence of the river valley nature and its
beauty.

Several times our river valley has been compared to New York Citys Central
Park. Yes, a comparision could be made, but, at NYC expense because it’s
smaller. And because it’s more of a tourist centre than Edmontons. I’ve been
there, such as at the site of John Lennons kill(may still have photos of
across the street long time after)

Additionally, I use public transit daily which would benefit the green
factor of Edmonton, at least through my keeping in touch with the issue.

And will support ETS. such as insisting that fares remain as present rate
so that lower income owners are still able to afford it.
