| Inquiry (sent on September 15, 2010) | Hello Grant Pullishy, Thank you for dropping off your business card size election advertisement and the information on it. I am with the advocacy group for the Edmonton Bicycle Commuters. I don’t know if you ride a bike, but if you do, it would be appreciated if you could send a photo with yourself on your bicycle.
… (show more)Here in Edmonton we need more bikelanes painted on busy roads, to keep bicycles separated from the motor-vehicles, on very busy street arteries we need separate bicycle lanes with their own traffic lights, away from cars and pedestrians. The safety of cyclists is compromised without designated lanes. Once bicycling is more secure, more people will go out and use their bikes, thus making the city more environmentally friendly, cleaner air, healthier citizens. Here in ward 7 I ride my bike on the bike-lane along the LRT, which suddenly comes to a stop at 97th Street. Can the stairs that are meant to take you down to the street have a plank of wood on it, so the bicycle can be rolled down the stairs? The transit stations, and LRT stations should have safe parking for bicycles. These are just a few of my thoughts. Hoping to hear from you, JS |
