Cycling Issues in Edmonton Questionnaire

ResponseDear Chris,

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, I support the Bicycle Transportation Plan (BTP) on condition. It has to be funded as part of community driven project. Part of my program is to de-centralize the funding process and return
to the community.

I strongly encourage all communities of Edmonton work together to ensure the success of this project as a whole. Not only it will encourage participation and sense of belonging from the people that contributed. If we get everyone involved, we will also ensure a good utilization of the tracks. For too long our city has been on its own, building infrastructure that are under utilized and cost a fortune to maintain. All through tax payer’s money. It is no wonder we have the highest tax hike over the last 6 years in Canada.

A full partnership with communities, business partners and the city will not only promote awareness of this project, it would be funded more quickly and cheaply.

I hope that answers your question.
